Rohan Wighton is SAAFE CRC’s Operations Manager and an environmental scientist with a career in Australian agribusiness and new technologies. He brings a wealth of in-house and consultancy experience, as well as extensive knowledge in the application of sustainable technologies and systems.

With a Bachelor of Environmental Science, and having spent 14 years in the wine sector, Rohan is acutely aware of the real-world implications of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) on our agriculture and environment.

The opportunity to support critical work to tackle the growing global threat posed by AMR first drew him to SAAFE CRC as our Risk and Reporting Manager in late-2022 before taking on the role of Operations Manager in early 2023.

Rohan’s day-to-day involves governance, policy, and system development, but he counts our mission to protect Australia’s communities, environment and economy from AMR, as well as our team of talented subject matter experts as his favourite parts of the job.
