Jacinta Connell
Legal Counsel
“AMR has vast impacts on the food and agribusiness sectors in particular. The research being done in this area, the methodologies, and the information-sharing involved is quite incredible.”
About
Jacinta Connell is a multifaceted legal professional, working as Legal Counsel at SAAFE CRC, while co-hosting a radio show and running three businesses. She brings diverse legal experience, having practiced commercial litigation and insurance, employment, and corporate law for a range of top-tier, mid-tier and boutique law firms.
In addition to working with top tier and boutique law firms, Jacinta has been invited to serve as Company Secretary on a medical research not-for-profit board, and has also undertaken a secondment in the banking and financial services sector.
She was first drawn to SAAFE by the opportunity to work among a dynamic team and to contribute to an exciting area of research through a role that closely aligns with her skill set and interests.
As our Legal Counsel, her days usually involve reviewing and negotiating contracts, company secretariat tasks, developing policies and internal management frameworks, and providing ad hoc general counsel advice (all punctuated by many oat flat whites, of course!).
Outside of SAAFE, when she’s not juggling her weekly radio show, two cafes and catering business, Jacinta plays competitive tennis and is a regular participant at her local pub’s quiz night. Her advice? When it comes to a career (and life in general), be bold, take risks, work hard and have the courage to pursue what really lights you up.
